Question by QuillSB74: What to do on day three of an ankle sprain (AFTL & deltoid ligament) that was not severe but still is painful?
Nasty sprain when I missed a step going downstairs and fell. On day 1, I did RICE. On day 2, I did rest, elevate, and put on a compression bandage. What next? I have to walk 4 blocks to work every day. Of course, my jogging/walking routine is stalled for at least a week until this heals. Will do restorative yoga instead.

ouch…. you should definitely continue to ice and elevate (if its still swollen)… maybe when you’re walking you could try using a tensor/compression bandage if you feel like it helps… also, dont limp, try to move your foot up and down, and in circles..as pain allows..that way you can prevent excess scar tissue build up and your ankle wont get too stiff
